I was pleasantly surprised when we got to Backbone Grill, with outdoor, undercover and indoor dinning. The front of the shop has big plate glass for the entry door and surrounds and it gives the feel of entering a 5 star hotel. Very modern and with lovely wooden table and chairs, cube lights on the wall, cow hide is used as a feature along with prints on the walls.
Above there are wonderful feature lights that fill the raised roof perfectly and add to the sophisticated yet relaxed atmosphere . The rotisserie and bar are in full view to diners, with the back wall and the outside wall full of various wines to choose from.
Backbone's Grill menu continues with the raw material feel with their recycled cardboard menu and black print. I would say Backbone's dishes are modern Greek and there are many options to choose from.
I ordered a chicken Gyro open plate that consisted of chicken, pita, salad and chips. My sister had the lamb variety. I really enjoyed my meal, it was tasty, fresh and great value at $13. Neither of us could eat the entire amount.
Staff were attentive and happy to omit some ingredients for allergy reasons, which makes a nice change. The only gripe about my time at Backbone is that the front of house waiter wasn't particularly welcoming, however everyone else was, and we can all have a bad day.
Haha, I have a daughter just like that, you never
