Back to Sleep is a children's picture book that was written by Zoë Foster Blake and illustrated by Mike Jacobsen. It is 32 pages long and was published by Puffin Books on 29 September 2020. It is suitable for children between 3 and 5 years of age.

Back to Sleep was the much-anticipated follow-up book to Foster Blake's first children's book, No One Likes a Fart (2017), which was a record-breaking bestseller. Zoë Foster Blake is quickly becoming one of my favourite children's book authors. My favourite kind of children's books are the ones that know how to appeal to both children and adults and Zoë Foster Blake really knows how to tick that box.

Back to Sleep is a bedtime story where the parents won't go to bed and it's the kid who has to get up and tend to their every needs. In this hilarious role switch, poor Finn just wants to be a kid and play with his toys, but has to keep getting out of bed to put his Mum and Dad back to bed. Mum and Dad ask for a drink of water, to be tucked in, to be carried back to bed and complain that they had a bad dream. Finn is exhausted and frustrated but never loses his temper. He acts like a loving parent and tends to their every need with kindness and patience.

Back to Sleep is a great book. Adults will love the jokes that poke fun at the antics kids get up to at bedtime and kids will love the illustrations showing Mum and Dad acting like little children.
