Free Face Painting for Kids at the Goodwood Free Family Fun Day
On Saturday February 27 Goodwood comes alive with the free Back to Goodwood Gala Day. Goodwood is a friendly community just south of Adelaide, and everybody is invited to come in and enjoy the fun things to do for all ages at the Goodwood Community Centre.
The entertainment will start around 10am with the Unley Concert Band playing stirring music as they lead a Push & Pedal parade to Goodwood Road. Bring your own set of decorated "wheels" – bikes, pushers, skateboards, billy cart or whatever, and win cash prizes of $100 donated by the Goodwood branch of Bendigo bank. (Please arrive by 9.45 to register for the event).
Learn About Growing Plants in Containers at the Goodwood Community Centre
Take part in a series of free workshops kicking off at 10.15am with a session on Chrysanthemum Propagation, showing how to bring out the best in your chrysanthemum blooms. Learn the new sport of Sitting Volleyball in a free demonstration from 11.30am, it's designed for people of all abilities to take part and improve their fitness.
At 12.30pm join Erin Russell for a free discussion on Downsizing – What are the Benefits? It can help you make changes and embrace a new lifestyle, deal with clutter and simplify everyday living. You'll get some helpful tips on recycling too. From 2pm a group of local keen gardeners will present Growing in Containers - sharing their knowledge of successful growing in all sorts of containers including scrounged ones, using sustainable gardening practices.

Also at 2pm Julia Wakefield will share the secrets of Drawing from the Right Brain. Learn how left/right brain activity can relax and stimulate the brain, and solve problems in everyday life. She will be available for consultation throughout the day.
Of course there are plenty of activities for kids as well as free things to do for adults. The outside play area will be open (10am-4pm) for the little ones. A free Air gym and Jungle gym will be set up outside in the shade for play all day, including water play and giant games. Or alternatively create your own family fun on the lawn area.

Drop in to the Goodwood Toy Library (small membership fee applies), or pop in to the Goodwood Library for live streaming of Writers' Week events. The library will also host free sessions with a Paper Mosaics Art Workshop for adults at 10.30am. Alternatively Children's Craft & Storytelling at 2.30pm is a delightful afternoon of storytelling and craft activities for kids with Amanda Graham & Donna Gynell. Please note: advance bookings are essential for both these free sessions.
There are more free things to do for kids between 10.30am and 2.30pm with talented face painters and glitter tattooist to make them look their glamorous best. The first 500 people can also claim a free Goodybag crammed with samples of Goodwood Centre programs and vouchers from participating Goodwood Road traders.

If all that playing and workshops makes you hungry, then settle down for a delightful Devonshire tea, or grab something hot off the BBQ at the sausage sizzle.
