The future has arrived! It's time to get ready to welcome Marty McFly and 'Doc' Brown when they transport in from 1985. They're coming all this way – travelling over 30 years! – to save Marty's son from ending up in prison and you can help by joining in the Bacchus to the Future fun and cheering them on to ultimate success. It'll be two days after their actual arrival when the Bacchus to the Future celebrations begin on Friday, 23 October, 2015 at The Bacchus Brewing Company, Unit 1, 2 Christine Place, Capalaba from midday until 11.00pm.

Entry is FREE. In fact, you could leave better off than when you arrive if you get right into the spirit of the event and put on your choicest 'Back to the Future' fancy costume. You'll go into the judging and could win a $100 bar tab to be awarded for the best fancy dress costume.

Drink prices range from $5 to $12 depending on glass size and brew and if you can't make up your mind which of the specially brewed theme beers you want, ask for a Tasting Paddle and get 5 small beers of your choice for $20.

Bacchus has arranged to have fourteen '1-off' themed beers on tap. Try a few on Friday and set yourself up for a remarkable future weekend so you'll keep on coming back. Here's the list – do your best;

* Biff's Ruddy Bitter (Best Bitter)
  • Great Scotch Ale (8.8% Scotch Ale)
  • Einstein's Paw-ter (Porter)
  • Gimme A Milk...... Stout (Vanilla Milk Stout) – on nitro
  • Call me Cal (Californian Common)
  • 88 Limes per Sour (Lime Berliner Weisse)
  • Hops Capacitor Pale Ale (Californian style Pale Ale)
  • Marty McRye (Rye IPA)
  • Doc Brown's Some Serious Shit (American Brown)
  • We Have To Go Black (Black IPA 88 IBU's 8.8%)
  • Double Tie PA (Double IPA 88 IBU's 8.8%)
  • Enchantment Under The Saison (Spirulina Saison)
  • Nobody Calls Me Chicken (Cock Ale)
  • Johnny Be Gose (Gose is a salty, spiced German Wheat Beer)

  • If you're the designated driver, a teetotaller who likes movies or just too young to really enjoy yourself yet then you can still enjoy a Bundaberg craft brewed soft drink or a gluten free, Alchemy Cordial. These cordials have a real kick that's all flavour and no alcohol.

    Whether you're in the past, present or future there's nothing that goes better with a good beer than a tasty pizza. So as not to disappoint, the Bacchus kitchen will be serving up its wonderful pizzas and pretzels from midday until 10.00pm. Pizzas are all available from $12 each and a feed of pretzels from just $3.

    Think about this:
    You're sipping on a chilly, '88 Limes Per Sour' and, at the same time, munching on a Nacho Libre pizza of green chilli salsa, Tabasco sauce, chicken, black beans, white onion, buffalo Mozzarella with a sour cream drizzle. Just thinking about it makes your mouth water, right?

    If that doesn't do it for you, then you could try:
  • 3 Cheese Pizza with smoked cheddar, Windsor Blue and Buffalo Mozzarella, drizzled with a Bacchus Smoked Malt reduction;
  • Inferno Salami consisting of hot salami, sugo tomato, olives, basil and Buffalo Mozzarella;
  • The Greek with its succulent Yiros lamb seasoned with moroccan spices, red onion, garlic oil, fetta and mozzarella cheese and topped off with Greek yogurt and a Bacchus Malt reduction;
  • Chicken Parmie that sits on a tomato base with basil, garlic, capsicum, Mozzarella cheese and shredded chicken, covered in Parmesan cheese, smoked cheddar and drizzled with Parmigiana Sauce; or perhaps
  • BBQ Chicken and Ham with extra ham and red onion smothered in a sweet and sticky BBQ sauce, buffalo Mozzarella and shredded BBQ Chicken.

  • The huge projector screen in the brewery, which is normally used for showing all the major sporting events, will be showing the first 'Back to the Future' movie so you can sit back and relax and remember the 'good 'ol days' as you re-live Marty and Doc's adventures.

    Come and celebrate at a time when Marty and Doc are 'scriptually' among us. If you can't actually find them, or Doc's Deloren, perhaps you can phone and speak to them on 555-1234!

    Grab your hover board and skate on down to Bacchus Brewing with the whole family for a full night of fun. Kids are welcome and you should bring your mother-in-law – this is something she'll actually give you some credit for!
