Leading DJ from the 60's and 70's, Jim Slade has decided to present his (BBRA) Baby Boomers Rock Adelaide show, in a new and exciting format with the introduction of live-to-air Skype interviews with his first special guest Dinah Lee, who had many BIG HITS in the 60's.

Slade said, "Since beginning our stage show in October, 2014, we have been doing our live interviews quite successfully, with a variety of outstanding local performers and entertainment personalities, from the 60's and 70's sharing their experiences and memories of what and who influenced them during those amazing times. They have talked quite openly about the good and the bad times. Some were extremely moving, quite revealing and deeply personal conversations, while others were entertaining and a lot of fun."

Slade said, "This worked well for the first 4 or 5 shows, but the audience began asking for interstate artists. I didn't have a budget to accommodate bringing these artists to Adelaide, but technology was moving at a rapid rate and I could see that we could present interstate artists via Skype, whereby our audiences could see and hear them."

"I made contact with Dinah Lee via a Melbourne entertainment agent, Jeff Joseph, and this week I had a rehearsal with Dinah and all went to plan with this lady, who is still the same vibrant and exciting personality that she was in the 60's. She will feature in our next show on Thursday, 23 April, 2015."

Dinah, who was known as 'Queen of the Mods' had major hits with 'Don't you know Yockomo', Reet Petite, Do the Blue Beet / Kansas City", Who Stole the Sugar / Rock Around The Clock, "I'm Walkin' " / "Who Stole The Sugar" in the 60's.

In 1970's she had three records released "Tell Him"/"You Are The One", then in 1976, "It Doesn't Matter Anymore"/"Midnight Blue", and in 1979, "I Can See Clearly Now"/"Let It Take You".
In 1982, Dinah's "Best Of - 20 Golden Greats" album was released.

Dinah Lee's career never really slowed down in Australia. She became a very popular artist on the club scene.

Slade said, "I am now planning interviews via Skype with Normie Rowe, Lonnie Lee and Beeb Birtles. People will remember Beeb, who now lives in Nashville, as a member of bands like The Zoot, Mississippi and Little River Band."

Jim's April guests include:

Barry Hall:

For over 20 years Barry was the announcer on 5 DN's afternoon request program Choose Your Own. As the Music Man Barry made regular appearances on NWS 9's children's shows including "The Channel Niners, Stars of Tomorrow, and the national series 'Here's Humphrey.' Now in his 80's Barry is still very much in demand as an entertainer. He often plays the Wurlitzer Organ at the Capri Theatre at Goodwood. He also hosts on Mt Barker's new 88.9 FM Community Radio Station a weekly program.

Trevor Cowling:

Trevor had the title of 'Top Cat' because as Musical Director on 5AD he approved every record that went to air. He even approved the time of day it was played.

Trevor was present at Elvis' Comeback Show in Las Vegas in 1969. He even visited Elvis' home where he met Elvis' Uncle Vester Presley.

Trevor's personal record collection of approximately 100,000 items is estimated to be valued at over $1 million.

As always Jim has put together an exciting packed 3-hour LIVE show. The next Baby Boomers, Rock Adelaide show will be at 6.30pm to 9.30pm on Thursday, 23 April, 2015.
