Plan your own day out on the water with BA Boat Hire
Jump onboard with B.A. Boat Hire, Adelaide, who are fast becoming the biggest and best boat hire service across South Australia. Starting in 2017, B.A. Boat Hire proudly offers the ultimate convenience in boating. Their personalised boat hire service allows you to walk onto one of their boats, enjoy your time on the water, then simply walk off! No dramas at the boat ramp. No cleaning off all that bait and saltwater. Just a hassle-free service.
Their 4.8m Bluefin Weekender which is great starter boat, popular for small groups up to 4 people, is perfect for crabbing and fishing and also a good boat to take out just after getting your boat licence.
Their 6.5m Amara Centre Cabin is for the more serious hirer. With a capacity of 6 people, it has the room and stability to make a whole day out on this boat comfortable. Whether you are keen to fish all day or just cruise along to enjoy the scenery with a swim, this is the perfect boat to spend a rememberable day on.
They also have a range of fishing gear and equipment to hire and bait available to purchase. Just let them know in advance.
B.A. Boat Hire Amara Centre Cabin leaving North Haven Marina
Both boats are available for half and full-day hire. The Bluefin Weekender can be launched from North Haven or West Beach boat ramps, and the Amara Centre Cab from North Haven boat ramp only. Both vessels are also available to tow away for the weekend or extended period.
Boat licences are required for both boats, however, B.A. Boat Hire offers a skippered service if you still want to hit the water, but don't have a boat licence.
As a group of 4, we recently hired the 6.5m Amara as we'd previously hired the smaller Bluefin Weekender last year. Although this was a great experience and an enjoyable half-day adventure, this time we wanted to head out a bit further and really make a full day of it.
With 4 adults on the boat, there was ample room and never felt like the boat was rocking about when anyone was moving around. Walking completely around the vessel was easy and meant we all had our own bit of the boat to play in for the day!
And driving the boat was even easier. Ben took us out on the water briefly before the hire started as we had not driven this boat before. This was a good opportunity to experience it for ourselves, give us the confidence that we knew how it would handle and ask any questions that we had.

With a full day on the water, we certainly exhausted ourselves with crab nets, fishing lines, sun rays and pure fresh air. Even though the fish weren't biting as much as we hoped, and the crabs were still quite undersized at the beginning of the season, we all still had a brilliant day out. And for 4 people sharing, or a family, the cost actually makes it a pretty cheap day out.
B.A. Boat Hire not only offer boat rental throughout the week, but also boat tuition, commercial hire and as mentioned above, skippered services if you don't have a boat licence.
And who knows who you might meet at the boat ramp when you get back!
