Azul Cielo directly translates to blue skies, and it is no wonder the owners of this homely hostel chose this name.

This hostel is located approximately 10 minute walk from the heart of Oaxaca city. It is far enough for it to be peaceful, close enough you can walk up the road and enjoy a thick hot chocolate in the zocalo.
The decor goes hand in hand with the vibrant mystical feel that is so unique of Oaxaca, hot pink and bright blue walls dotted with local handcrafts, all private rooms, dormitories and common areas surround a fresh colourful garden, providing each space with equal amounts of light and air.
Vibrant, full of fresh air and light
Azul Cielo offers private rooms with shared bathroom or en suites, female and mixed dormitories with allocated lockers and linen.
All guests are welcome to have breakfast in the open dining room: tea and coffee, bread, jam, butter, cereal, milk and fruit, served on large communal tables for you to meet other travelers and share experiences.
With an undercover open air lounge area, books, magazines, boardgames, movies, musical instruments and a wireless network it is easy to spend a lazy day in here. Azul Cielo also offers a fully stocked kitchen so you can make your own meals and save some money.

Home made meal, just like a restaurant!
This place is aimed at those who enjoy travelling but are so busy exploring they need a good night's rest, so they are strict with a no noise policy after 10 pm and a complete silence policy after 11 pm.
The hostel has a hard working and enthusiastic team, they are very welcoming and more than willing to help you book a tour give you directions and recommend you local eateries, cheap markets or bus routes to main attractions.

Great location to explore Oaxaca.
This place made it hard not only for us to leave but for me to believe all those dark, horrid hostel stories; I am sure they exist, but all I can say is our stay in this colourful, welcoming and impeccable place was nothing but Azul Cielo.
