For Darwin cruise ship fans, a visit by Azamara Journey is a special treat. Docking at Darwin's Fort Hill Wharf West Berth at 7.45 am on Sunday 18 March 2018, Azamara Journey will spend the day in Darwin before departing at 6 pm. This will be her only visit to Darwin this year.

For those who like to see their ships cruise in or out, your best vantage points are Bicentennial Park on The Esplanade or the Darwin Waterfront Sky Bridge. Great viewing will be available from either location but remember to bring along your binoculars. Parking is available along The Esplanade or at the Deck Chair Cinema when the cinema is closed. This activity is free and child friendly.

Please Note: This is a viewing only event, and no access is available onboard or on the wharf.

On her only visit to Darwin this season, Azamara Journey will arrive as part of her Australia and Asia Cruise. After departing from Sydney, Azamara Journey visited Brisbane, Whitsundays, Hamilton Island, Townsville, Cairns and Thursday Island before arriving in Darwin. From Darwin she will sail away into the sunset towards Bali and Celukan Bawang, before arriving at her final port in Singapore.

Along with her sister Azamara Quest, Azamara Journey is an R-class cruise ship. As a mid-sized and more luxurious ship, Azamara Journey guests enjoy greater attention to detail than those cruising on a megaship. At just 181 metres in length, she has 11 decks (9 passenger accessible) and carries just 694 passengers and 407 crew providing a 1.7:1 passenger to crew ratio. Azamara Journey has two propeller shafts, two fixed pitch propellers and just one funnel.

Although gazing upon Azamara Journey as she gracefully progresses into port will be a delight, from your viewing point you will note that Azamara Journey's top deck is a great vantage point for guests to take in the sun and watch the sunrise and sunset. This area also holds the shuffle board area and you might be able to spy guests playing as she leaves port.

Azamara Journey offers cruises around Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Cuba and the Caribbean, Mediterranean and Northern and Western Europe with timeframes from 4 nights for those who just want to see if they like cruising to 18 nights for those who want a bit more adventure.
