Hawthorn. Bridge road. Glenferrie station. Private schools. Imperial Corporate Offices. Traffic.

The doors to opened in mid May this year with the loving hands of David Makin and Zoe Delany. Never heard of them? 2 words and 1 phrase: Champions Baristas and 'Like a boss.' In other words, you're in good hands.

They take their food as seriously as their coffee with a head chef, three cooks and a pastry chef making magic in ovens, trays, pans and plates with a one way ticket for your mouth. If that didn't make you raise an eyebrow, their delicious meals will.

They have quite a large area that is well spaced out. Benches, tables, communal tables, polished concrete floors and viewing windows into the roastery and soon to be training room.

At 12 pm on a Sunday they're extremely busy. A table for 1 person took about 15 to 20 minutes. I didn't mind and you shouldn't either, the wait time is worth it in the end. A polite young man whom I find out is David Makin, takes down my name, and tells me to have a wonder around until a table is available. This gives me plenty of time to step into the retail area and look at all the amazing coffee gadgets and publications that beckon me and tempt me to purchase purchase purchase.

Before I end up applying for another mortgage looking at all the pretty coffee toys, my seat is ready. I take my seat at the bar in the corner which overlooks the roastery and machines of awesomeness. A bottle of water and a menu is brought to me before I can take my jacket off.

Ordering time.

Double espresso. Costa Rica Herbazu.
Manuka honey is in the description of this delicate drop. I can definitely taste orange zest, there also seems to be a type of oak-like nuance to it, which could be coming from the honey. This has rugged but silky tastes at the end of each sip. A delicious drop, fit for anyone's last supper.

The gluten free corn fritters with haloumi was fantastic. Sure, a lot of places make corn fritters with egg and avocado and hope for the best. However these fritters were very light and not laden in oil like fritters of cafes gone by.

People of Melbourne, come here. Eat, drink and stay a while. Come for coffee, coffee and breakfast, coffee and sweets.
