The markets boast a wonderful mix of handmade crafts, fresh produce, fashion, homewares and live music.

The stalls wind their way through the trees of the park, which create enchanting natural avenues for you to explore. What I love about the Avoca Markets is that the change of seasons invites a constantly evolving roster of stalls and products. I can always find something new whenever I visit.

While you might be tempted to spend up big at the first stall you come to, make sure you pace yourself. There are delicious treats to be found at Charlie and Bella Cupcakes, and Funky Fudge; incredible feathered jewellery at Arabella Fox ; and beautiful one-of-a-kind capes, brooches, and swimwear at Rhi Designs .

There is also live music to sit and enjoy at the Lizotte's stage. The famed local music venue hosts wonderful artists in front of a makeshift dining room, so you can sit and enjoy your poffertjes, gozleme, or fudge.

At one end of the markets is a fresh produce section, with a stand selling beautiful fruit and vegetables, while a neighbouring stand sells apples, freshly squeezed apple juice, and home baked apple pies.

Suggestion: head down early and grab breakfast at one of the many local cafes in Avoca. Or, if you don't want to give up your Sunday sleep in, you could always get there a little later and enjoy lunch at this reviewer's favourite burger joint: Burger Girls.

The fun kicks off at 9am and runs right through until 2pm, so you've got a nice wide lazy Sunday window to get yourself down to Heazlett Park and soak up the wonderful atmosphere at .
