More markets are back for 2024 at Heazlett Park, Avoca Beach. Come every fourth Sunday to Heazlett Park Foreshore to enjoy
Avoca Beachside Markets , hosted by Fixx Events.
So, what will be on offer? As a local or visitor, you will get to see over ninety stores selling food, produce, eco, and sustainable items, as well as things made by local artists and makers on the waterfront – just as you have been able to do for the past fourteen years. The markets are on between 9am and 2pm every fourth Sunday of the Month, with the December markets on the 7th of December, and they will be twilight markets. These markets are filled with local talent and vendors, showcasing the wonders and beauty of the Central Coast in a fun and vibrant setting as the markets take in one of the most iconic places on the Central Coast. The best thing about having the markets at Avoca is the proximity to the beach means you can couple a visit to the markets with some time at the beach or having a meal at
Avoca Beach Seafoods . Enjoy making a day of it, and take your time to explore the stalls and meet the friendly locals.
Avoca Beachside Markets have become the premier local arts and musicians’ market on the Central Coast that takes place regularly. It is here that you can join other patrons in a relaxing and creative environment for shopping for local art, skincare, jewellery and an array of international foods. And you will get to do this whilst listening to music from local musicians. Remember to bring your own shopping bags to help reduce waste. If you forget, you can buy a recycled $1 screen-printed Avoca Beach markets bag, or take advantage of the Boomerang Bags initiative at the site office.
This is also a family-friendly event – there will be plenty to keep your kids occupied, such as the Aquafun water rides, an oval to run around on, kick a ball with friends, and you can have a picnic on the waterfront as well. Spend your weekend at Avoca with the beach and the markets to fill your days, and check out the local creativity as well as the high-quality stores on offer. Whilst this is a dog-friendly event, for safety, ensure your dog is under control and take waste with you to help conserve the natural environment and make the day pleasant for all attending.
Avoca Beach is 40 minutes from Hornsby, an hour from Newcastle and just over an hour from Sydney, and if you’re driving, keep in mind that parking will be at a premium, and finding another option to get there if you’re just coming for the day is advisable. The event organisers suggest walking along the beach from Hunter Park, or if you’re coming from North Avoca, leave your care there and walk from the lagoon. You could also carpool, get dropped off, ride a bike or use Uber or use a Busways bus so you avoid any frustrations. Remember not to park in residential driveways, and don’t illegally park – rangers patrol on event days to ensure things run smoothly for everyone.
Fixx Events aims to go ahead at all times, even in wet weather, but if it is too windy, then the event will be cancelled – these decisions will be made on market day. So keep an eye on
Facebook for updates.
