Free fun for the whole family
The much anticipated $3 million Aviary Creek Park in Aveley will officially open on Saturday, 26 May with a free festival full of healthy activities and entertainment for the whole family.
Featuring former Australian pole vaulter and qualified heath expert Amanda Bisk as MC, the Feel Good Festival will be a relaxing afternoon of food, markets and music to celebrate the opening of the 6.7 hectare multi-generational parkland.
Festivalgoers will be able to enjoy a Doga (dog yoga) demonstration by Amanda, who has amassed a large following on Instagram as a yoga and wellness guru, as well as free mini golf, outdoor games including giant Jenga and bocce, a silent disco, live music and face-painting from 2pm-5pm.
The festival is a fitting celebration of healthy living in keeping with the concept of Aviary Creek Park as a one-of-a-kind space supporting the wellbeing of residents of all ages. This new area has been built around lakes and wants to support healthy lifestyles in conjunction with the beautiful natural surroundings.
The park includes a giant water wheel playground, yoga platform, bocce court and lake-side boardwalks which are designed to provide active play areas for children and zen zones for the adults.
Aviary Creek Park is designed to bring the whole family together with creative play spaces, fitness and workout zones, passive areas and designated space for food carts and markets.
A historic nearby water mill was the inspiration for a giant, stationary wheel with two slides for different ability levels while an extensive series of tracks with distance markers and a series of boardwalks provide trails for runners and walkers.
There are also seating and barbecue facilities plus plenty of open space for picnics and ball games.
The Feel Good Festival will be held at Aviary Creek Park on Egerton Drive, Aveley from 2pm-5pm on Saturday, 26 May.
