Avenged Sevenfold live

Avenged Sevenfold, the California rockers and welders of gothic imagery are coming to Adelaide's Therbarton Theatre. This will be an intense show.

Avenged Sevenfold formed in 1999 with the début album Sounding the Trumpet and a pure hard metal sound of screeching guitars and screamed lyrics. They were immediately a success and began touring the globe and building their reputation as some of the hardest rockers around.

Subsequent studio albums have developed more tenders sides to their rock, Streets has shades of punk, and Warmness on the Soul includes piano ballads such as Dear God. The screeching guitar morphed into intricate riffs with a country feel, the howling lyrics have calmed down but are still raw and perhaps more evocative. It is probably the grainy imperfection of singer M. Shadows' voice that give Avenged Sevenfold its current sound. Imagine Johnny Cash out in front of Guns'n Roses.

In 2009 Avenged Sevenfold lost their drummer Jimmy Sullivan to a prescription drug overdose and considered closing shop, but eventually reformed. The single Nightmare was digitally released in May 2010. Despite mixed reviews it debuted at number one on the Billboard Charts in the US . The band is back.

The current line up consists of vocalist M. Shadows, lead guitarist Synyster Gates, rhythm guitarist Zacky Vengeance, bassist Johnny Christ.

Avenged Sevenfold has released 6 albums including one live album, selling more than 4 million worldwide and have fanatical followers around the globe.
