24-year-old Canadian, Avan Yu, will be playing a piano recital at Geelong's Sacred Heart College on Thursday 13 September.

As the winner of the 2012 Sydney International Piano Competition, he will be performing in McAuley Hall, the school's performing arts centre, at 7.30pm as part of his Australian tour.

A seasoned musician, Avan Yu has performed in esteemed venues such as Carnegie Hall and the Philharmonie in Berlin, and has played both solos (with an orchestra behind him) and in recitals, across four continents.

If you're interested in hearing Beethoven, Schumann, Debussy and Liszt classical scores from a young piano master, this is one event not to be missed!
