From Tuesday 29 March to Saturday 9 April, kids aged between 13 and 17 are invited to enjoy a series of FREE school holiday workshops at various libraries in the Moreton Bay region. All you need is a library membership and bring your sense of fun. Library memberships are free and you can join when you attend a workshop.

If you don't live in the Moreton Bay region, don't fret. Why not plan a day out in the area? You can spend the morning at the beach or Settlement Cove Lagoon before heading off to one of these wonderful workshops. There are definitely plenty of things to do in the region.

For the future jewellery designer, learn the essential skills for making rings, beaded jewellery and polymer clay beads. Get your creative juices going as you work with metal, play with beads, leather and rubber, and make and bake your own super cool polymer clay beads. Make them for yourself or someone special. You'll have a ball!

If you're quite the expert when it comes to gaming then don't miss out on the Super Smash Bros and FIFA Gaming Tournament at Redcliffe, the Minecraft Create-athon at North Lakes or the Wii Tournament at Deception Bay. You might win a $20 EB Games voucher!

You can also learn to make something unique using clay, decorate ceramics with Japanese transfer paper and glaze, create your personal daily diary comic, learn about fizz while making your bath bomb and discover LEGO Mindstorm robots.

And be sure to participate in this year's National Youth Week and enjoy yourself at Future Fest on Saturday, 9 April at North Lakes library. These future themed workshops are free and fabulous so make your bookings now! You'll have the opportunity to try out revolutionary technology by building a virtual world using Unity 3D software. For the young fashionista, give your old clothing accessories new life by making them light up and produce sound. Those into robotics will have a chance to work with IT students from the University of Queensland to simulate an exciting journey to Mars using LEGO Mindstorm robots. And let your imagination play when you explore the world of electronics using Little Bits and Makey Makey to invent time-saving hacks and techno-craft.

Places for workshops are limited and bookings are essential. You can book online or contact your local library.

Workshops aside, there are also splendid competitions for you to enter. Download the entry forms #comp ">here or drop in to any library to collect your entry form. Enter before Tuesday 12 April for your chance to win a $25 book voucher.
