Alowyn Gardens is very disappointed to announce that we have decided to CANCEL our autumn harvest event due to the uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 situation.

Festival provides opportunity to win prizes with own produce
When you think of Autumn, you think of the weather getting a little cooler to ease us into the winter months ahead. You also think of making soups, stews and hot roast meals with leftovers for lunch.

On Saturday 28th March 2020, Alowyn Gardens and Nursery, The Humbuckin Pickups, Frank 1964, My Girls Honey Company and Little Bumble Reusable Food Scraps are hosting The Autumn Harvest Festival at Alowyn Gardens in Yarra Glen, Victoria.

One giant Atlantic pumpkin will be waiting for you to guess its weight! Another forty varieties of this hearty winter vegetable will also be on show. You are invited to enter your own produce for chance to win a prize.

Live music from The Humbuckin' Pickups will be entertaining the crowds from 11.30am to 2.30pm.

The purpose of erecting Alowyn Gardens & Nursery was to give all visitors a chance to enjoy nature, even if they were not interested in gardening. Plant names are displayed to inform visitors of the names of the plant varieties when walking around the garden. Alowyn Gardens paddocks was originally infested with weed and blackberry. Along with a good deal of soil revitalisation and a soil management plan, the earth has been brought back to a healthy state. The first tree was planted in 1999.

Today, Alowyn Gardens & Nursery is well sought out for weddings, birthdays and other festive occasions.

Alowyn Gardens & Nursery can be located at 1210 Melba Highway, Yarra Glen. The event concludes at 3.00pm. See you there!
