Dedicate a day to Dandenongs' awe-inspiring Autumn foliage
Join Friends of the Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne on a day trip to the Dandenong Ranges to fully immerse yourself in the glorious, vibrant display put on by Victoria's Autumn foliage.
The self drive day trip includes visits to several gardens in the Dandenong Ranges region, which will all have their Autumn foliage in full bloom and which will have leaves that encompass the entire spectrum of Autumn colours.
One garden on the list of gardens to be visited was designed by Edna Walling, one of Australia's most influential landscape designers, who described this particular garden as "a symphony in steps and beautiful trees".
The day trip will also include a rare chance to enter a beautiful private garden that is set on five acres in Sassafras, as well as a chance to explore a Sherbrooke garden with mature trees, sculptures and an exceptional hydrangea collection.
The day's lunch will be served among the gold, red, orange and burgundy in a historic garden in Ferny Creek.
Taking place on Thursday 27 April 2017 at 11 am, both members of Friends of the Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne and non-members are welcome to join the day trip, which will cost $35 for members and $45 for non-members. Morning tea and a light luncheon are included.
The day trip is self-drive, with participants either needing their own car or needing to organise a carpool, which is recommended to minimise the number of cars.
To book a day among the glorious gold, red, orange and burgundy of Autumn, call Friends of the Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne's office on (03) 9650 6398 before 20 April. Detailed driving instructions and a day plan will be provided on booking.
Dedicate a day to Autumn's awe-inspiring exhibit and dance in between and jump on lively, vibrant leaves in the Dandenongs.
