Meet the author of bestselling book ‘Wild’ in person
If you enjoyed the book (or movie) 'Wild' by Cheryl Strayed as much as I did, you will be pretty excited about the opportunity to meet Cheryl in person at 6-7pm on Wednesday 10 August 2016 at the National Library of Australia (NLA).
NLA pulls some solid names for their author talks (Elizabeth Gilbert and Graeme Simsion, to name a couple), and I'm sure Cheryl Strayed won't disappoint.

Cheryl's internationally bestselling books include: Wild, Brave Enough, and Tiny Beautiful Things. In her talk, Cheryl will discuss her fascinating journey and how it changed her life.
If you're not familiar for Cheryl's bestseller 'Wild', here is a quick synopsis:
Following the premature death of her mother from lung cancer, at twenty-two Cheryl was struggling. Her own marriage then broke down and she was completely alone. Feeling as if she had nothing more to lose, Cheryl embarked on the trip of a lifetime - a hike for more than a thousand miles along the Pacific Crest Trail from the Mojave Desert through California and Oregon to Washington State – alone. Wild is the captivating story of Cheryl's physical and emotional journey, told in Cheryl's warm and engaging style. Wild became a #1 New York Times Bestseller and is now a major motion picture starring Reese Witherspoon and Laura Dern.
Tickets are $20 per person, but include light refreshments and book signing. I have attended previous author talks at NLA, and can assure you that this is pretty good value, as the refreshments are plentiful and delicious!
