Australia's Biggest Morning Tea 2012

Home > Adelaide > Community Events | Charity
Event: -
Every year since 1994 thousands of Australians have gathered together for a cup of tea to raise important funds for cancer prevention, research and patient support.

This year will be no different with the Cancer Council aiming to raise $11.5 million to help those in need. While Thursday, May 24th is the official date for Australia's Biggest Morning Tea, events can be held at any time during the months of May and June.

Many people will be holding morning teas at their workplaces, schools, community centres or perhaps like me with family and friends to celebrate a birthday.

Since registering to host my morning tea I have had no shortage of support and information from the Cancer Council in organising my event. Local businesses and community members have been very kind in offering donations to help reach my goal amount of $1500. It has been a thoroughly rewarding experience so far and I am looking forward to hosting my first morning tea and celebrating with birthday cake and a cuppa.

You can get involved by partaking in a morning tea near you and donating generously. Or why not hold your own morning tea? It's not too late.

The Australia's Biggest Morning Tea website has all the information you will need to register for a morning tea, find one near you or to make your donation online.

It is a fun and relaxed way to tackle this serious disease and with 1 in 2 Australians being diagnosed with cancer before the age of 85, there is no doubting the importance of this fundraising event.
