The simple act of partaking of morning tea, a ritual enjoyed by some on a daily basis takes on a whole new meaning on May 24th 2012. Thousands of Australians will unite over their tea and biscuits to raise much needed funds towards the vital research, prevention and support work undertaken by the Cancer Council.
SInce it's inception in 1994 Australia's Biggest Morning Tea has grown into one of our nation's largest and most popular fund raising events, last year's morning tea alone raised $11.2 million dollars!
If you've been wanting to do some charity work, make a difference or just earn some good karma, there are a number of ways you can get involved; host a morning tea, donate to a morning tea, get your work or school involved, purchase merchandise, corporate sponsorship, or become an ambassador for this worthy cause.
This year for the first time you can involve yourself electronically via the new Virtual Morning Tea. During May you can share your story, or just advise where you'll be having morning tea on May 24th and everyone's location will be displayed on an interactive map, so you'll be virtually having morning tea with thousands of other Australians!
These days everyone knows someone who has been impacted by cancer so do your bit and get involved, even it's as simple as making a donation to someone else's morning tea; after all, every donation no matter how small can make a big difference. As an extra incentive, all donations over $2 are tax deductible.
