I like to participate in life rather than be a spectator. Music, dancing, theatre, travelling, food, cycling and walking are some of my passions. Writing is an enjoyable pastime that allows me to share my experiences.
A Cup Of Good Feelings
All of us have unfortunately been touched by cancer in some way. During the months of May & June you can to do something about it by hosting or attending a Biggest Morning Tea.
The official date for 2016 was Thursday 26 May but my work colleagues and I decided to hold our morning tea on Wednesday 25 May. We got our manager's permission and started by advertising the event via email, group messages and posters.
We cooked and provided a variety of hot and cold, sweet and savoury treats which were served in the brightly decorated staff lounge. We ensured there was something there for all tastes, mini quiches, chocolate brownies, fruit platters, dips, chips and sugar free protein balls to name a few. All the attendees were happy to donate at the event and online and they enjoyed the opportunity to network with colleagues.
Our spread was very well received and I am pleased to say that the morning tea raised $1039 for the cancer council. A side effect was boost in morale of those who donated their time, money and skills. Go on and give hosting a go, there are still three weeks of June left.
