Fill a teapot with your favourite brew, add a plate of cakes and treats and know you are helping raise funds for people affected by cancer by hosting or joining in at one of events in your City.



For over 30 years, members of the community have joined together, gathered friends and family, shared a cup of tea and treats, and collected donations to support cancer research, support and prevention. In 2024, the event raised over $16M with over 23,000 morning teas held.

How does it work? Simply click onto the Cancer Council of Australia website, following these three simple steps:
1. Register to host
2. Choose a date
3. Make it personal

While is officially held on 22 May 2025, community and business-led events are welcome across May and June to raise awareness and funds for cancer.



And the need for funding continues to grow. Research has shown that in 2000, there were around 88,000 cases of cancer diagnosed in Australia. By 2024, it is estimated there will be some 169,000 cases of cancer diagnosed in Australia. An increase of around 93% over 24 years, with the majority of the increase due to increases in population size and increasing numbers of people reaching older ages for which cancer rates are higher.

As well as leading this fundraiser, the work of the Cancer Council of Australia also involves advocacy and education and providing a free and confidential support service.
