Get together with your friends, share a delicious morning tea and help raise funds to support Australians with cancer

Help kick cancer to the curb with cupcakes, scrumptious savouries and friendly conversation at this year's Australia's Biggest Morning Tea. The Morning Tea is a major fundraising event for the Cancer Council to support their efforts in the fight against cancer.

About the Cancer Council
The Cancer Council is Australia's leading Cancer charity. They provide preventative programs and support services to the community such as:

Prevention: Helping to reduce the risk of skin cancer for children through the Sunsmart Schools Program

Research: Investing in medical research to help understand and find treatments

Support: Providing support services to patients and families

Statistics about cancer in Australia
Research shows that the age-adjusted cancer incidence rate of cancer increased from 584 cases per 100,000 people in 2000 to an estimated 626 cases per 100,000 people in 2023. Over the same period, age-adjusted cancer mortality rates decreased from 255 deaths per 100,000 people to an estimated 195 deaths per 100,000 people. Lung cancer and melanoma are some of the highest types of disease in Australia.

How The Biggest Morning Tea Works
If you are keen to get involved, gather your family, work colleagues and friends and have a morning tea, it is important to register your event with Cancer Cancer via their website. The official date of the Morning Tea is 23 May 2024 but you can host a gathering any time between May and June.

You can set yourself a fundraising target and use the event to raise donations among guests as well as those who can't attend.
