Don't just live, work and learn, make sure it counts
Looking for something more meaningful, perhaps a change of scenery with the aim of being able to contribute?

Why not look at being a volunteer overseas.

Australian Volunteers International is a significant contributor to a peaceful, just and sustainable world. A world of respectful global relationships where all people have access to the resources they need. Have the opportunity to achieve their potential, the right to make decisions about the kind of development they want and to participate in the future of their communities.

With mentors supporting and sharing skills alongside the many years experience in your field, perhaps this information session is the nudge you need.

With each assignment, this would include airfares, modest living allowances, insurance and accommodation as well as extensive briefing. Settle in for 6 to 18 months in your role, living like a local in Asia, the Pacific or Africa.

Building houses

Having a background in engineering, I had an opportunity to build houses for disadvantaged families in South America. To say it was an amazing experience, is an understatement.

Seeing conditions first hand

To see first hand the living conditions of these families, and being able to change this, was worth all the smiles, even with the language barrier. The helpful kids and grateful families was enough payment in my books to be able to give a helping hand.

There is a need for people in management, health, education, marketing, business development, Information technology, skilled trades, agriculture and the list goes on.

Why not find out more at the Information session touring in Australia in May.

Sounds like a great way to see more of the world and help others at the same time. I hope they gain a lot of volunteers from your article.
