Australian Treasure Walks

Published April 18th 2011
Have you always secretly dreamed of being an explorer? Do you live in (or are you travelling to) Melbourne? These are the only requirements you need to become an Australian Treasure Walker.

Australian Treasure Walks are a self-guided tour experience where participants become part detective, part treasure hunter. The walks require logic, brains and deduction skills to work out clues and navigate maps to determine the tour's path. You will also enjoy a day of light exercise and fresh air and be rewarded with a visit to some of Melbourne's treasured sights.

Explorers begin their journey by visiting the Australian Treasure Walk website and choosing a tour package from the half dozen available. There are options to suit all ages and fitness levels, with some of the experiences involving visiting the public gardens, exploring the cities laneways or searching for animals.

Once you've chosen a tour, you may purchase the package online. Prices being at $12.00, which includes a map and directions of the walk. All walks come with a money back guarantee that can be claimed within a month of purchase. You may download and print the booklet yourself or opt to have it delivered to you via the post.

You can start the tour as soon as you receive the booklet. Each walk is a scavenger hunt, with the booklet providing directions to treasured spots and each spot offering answers to clues that will help you solve the final puzzle. If you are unable to solve any of the clues, you can e-mail Australian Treasure Walks for assistance. When you have solved the final puzzle, return to the website to enter a competition to win an Amazon or Coles Myer gift voucher.

The Treasure Walks were designed to be family friendly. They are about two to three kilometres long and are completely wheelchair and stroller friendly.
