The inaugural Australian Textile Art Award Exhibition comes to Embroidery House in Malvern from 21 March 2020 to 5 April 2020.The Australian Textile Art Award is a biennial juried non-acquisitive award of $2000, which was held for the first time in January 2020. A total of 95 entries from across Australia were received. Now the public has an opportunity to see contemporary textile art by the award winner and finalists of the Australian Textile Art Award in person.The exhibition showcases talented textile and mixed media artists from all states. Expect a wide range of themes, styles and textile media on show. A highlight of the exhibition is an installation of Annette Fitton's "mob of kangaroos", which recently returned to Melbourne after showing in Trivento, Italy. The exhibition will be open from 21 March 2020 to 5 April 2020, from 10am to 4pm daily. All are welcome: admission is $5. Free entry for children under 12 and qualified carers with their clients.
