Australian Tattoo Expo 2018 - Showcasing the best tattoo artists in Australia and the world.

We often hear that "beauty is in the eye of the beholder". Beauty comes in all form of sizes. There's beauty in the way we speak, the way we walk, our attire, and the accessories that adorn our bodies.

It can be a scarf, a beautiful dress, jewellery, or a form of body art which is crafted by inserting ink dyes and pigments into the dermis layers of the skin by fine needles. A body art called tattooing.

It can be a simple outline or an intricate design, that can take days or some are even months to complete.

Tattoos can be decorative, symbolic, or pictorial. Step back in time, 5000 years ago, where the body of an iceman was found in the Italian - Austrian border. His tattoos were on the key acupuncture spot, thus speculating, that it has been done as a form of pain relief.

Another earlier record dates back from 4000 to 3500 BC. It was found in carvings and on thighs and abdomen of Egyptian women mummies. Supposedly protecting them during their pregnancy and birth.

Over the last 100 years, tattoos are elementally associated with the undesirables. Donned by sailors and the criminals. In some countries, having a tattoo is still a taboo, and can mean, that a person has spent time in jail. By the end of the 20th century, this form of art has become accepted by different levels of society.

Getting a tattoo is a painful procedure and depending on the design and in most cases the experience of the tattooist, it can cost thousands of dollars

With so many tattoo parlours, how do we ensure that we have entrusted our body to the best tattooist there is? Perhaps you are a little cautious and prefer to see how it's done? After all, such beauty can turn into a regrettable unsightly mess. Here is your chance to do so.

Never one to give up, he continued to hone his craft He eventually found a mentor and success has since then followed his footsteps. Everyday life and black and grey realism allures James the most.
