Mary had a little lamb, its fleece was white as snow, so when July came around, Bendigo was the place to go.



From Friday 14th to Sunday 16th of July, Bendigo is indeed the place to be for all things woolly, be it woollen fashion, fine food and beautiful fibre.

The Australian Sheep and Wool show , has since 1877, been showcasing Australia's top wool growers and prime lamb producers and now attracts thousands of fans of woollen fashion, food and fibre from all over the country.



The Sheep Show Opening Times:

Friday 9am - 5pm
Saturday 9am - 5pm
Sunday 9am - 4pm
Merino Ram Sale, Sunday 1pm - 3pm

At the Festival of Lamb site you can take a culinary journey through the world of flavours and dishes. There will be plenty to try from grandma's delicious Sunday roast to many multi-cultural dishes from around the world. There will even be a junior cooking contest, so get out those aprons.



Stop by to see the National Yard Dog Championships , an annual event held throughout Australia each year, and this year it's Victoria's turn. On display over the three days will be the very best of the nations working dogs and their handlers competing in this prestigious event and will vie for $10,000 worth of prize money and the honour of being crowned the National Yard Dog Champion for 2017. Don't miss seeing these clever dogs at work and see who gets crowned as Top Dog.



Or why not join the Sheep Show's 'Women of Wool' series which encourages all women to take the Friday off to discover the wonders of wool and celebrate the women of the wool industry. There will be beautiful woollen designs at the Australian Wool Innovation fashion parades, where you'll be able to see 'wearable art' and other amazing entries. Tickets for the lunch including wine are $99 for this event and can be purchased here . No prizes for guessing what will feature on the menu!



The Sheep Show features some of the 'best of best' sheep breeders, shearers and wool handlers in the country. You'll be able to watch shearers at work and wool handling competitors battle it out for top prizes.

Don't forget to stop by and say hello to some of the cute and fluffy farmyard animals in the animal nursery.

More than 5000 farmers, the best fleeces in the country and 28 different breeds of sheep, goats and alpacas make their way to Bendigo each year for the Sheep Show. Come and say hello to them.
