Feeling tired all week? COVID induced stress getting to you? Perhaps give meditation a try.
The Australian School of Meditation & Yoga (ASMY) in Melbourne is offering mediation sessions every Thursday from 6pm to 6.45pm at its Gokula House in Collingwood. Established in 2000, House is a not-for-profit centre run by volunteers and is a branch of ASMY.
The session is about achieving inner peace through guided breathing and kirtan music. It focuses on the deeply relaxing and restorative effect of yoga relaxation and sacred mantra meditation. You can learn how to overcome stress and anxieties, help relieve tension and calm the mind using these ancient yoga practices.
This city fringe sanctuary also offers Hatha Yoga classes and guided meditation workshops that nurture the mind, body and soul.
Apart from relaxation, meditation also offers an easy way to stay healthy after a long day at work. Thursdays sessions are free but donations are welcomed. No bookings are required.
Date/Time: Thursdays 6pm - 7pm. Location: 440 Smith St. (entry Mater St.) Collingwood, VIC
