Take a journey into Japanese culture, and sample traditional sake and food, at the Australian Sake Festival in Brisbane from Saturday 15 to Sunday 16 March 2025.
What is Sake?
Sake is the national drink of Japan. It is an alcoholic wine made from fermented rice. In cultural terms, Historically Sake is considered as the drink of the kami (gods) of Shint, the Indigenous Japanese religion. The drink is enjoyed at festivals and is included in offerings to the kami.
The Australian Sake Festival
Last year the Festival was hosted in Sydney but now it is Brisbanes' turn. Over two days in Brisbane, the
