I'm all for shopping at op shops, but when I find one that donates its money to charity, then I definetly shop there more often than other independent op shops.

The Australia Red Cross op shops donate money to poor families and children, and gives money for schools to support poor children. It really is a great cause and you are helping them just by shopping there and spending as little as $5.

There are a few expensives things at the op shop such as full outfits and other clothes, but everything else is quite reasonable such as the children's books and toys.

I found children soft toys there for one dollar each, even the big teddy bears.

The one in Dandenong is really good, it's big and has a lot of stuff to look at including kids, womens and mens clothing, accessories, books for kids and adults, games, toys, and knick knacks such as plates, cutlery and statues.

The staff are really nice and always willing to help you look for something you need.

It is also a great place to go to if you are after a few cheap children's toys if you have guests coming over will little kids as there is loads of kiddy books and toys such as cars, blocks, board games, soft toys and character merchandise to occupy kids.

I have also found op shops including the Red Cross to be a good supplier for rare books and Beanie Kid toys (even though they don't come with tags)

My boys enjoy shopping at the Red Cross and also feel good that they are donating to charity.
