While the convention may still be a few months away, but here is an exciting news for those who are expert quilters. AQC has announced a competition or a challenge and there is significant money to be won. Entrants will have to prepare a quilt with the dimensions of 90cm x 90cm (36 inches square). The theme selected for the challenge is "True Blue" and the entries must reflect their interpretation of the theme. The
deadline for entries is 27 February 2015.
The winner of this challenge will also secure the honour of having their quilt displayed at the convention. The prizes to be won are as follows:
First: $3,500
Runner-up: $1,500
Viewer's Choice: $500
The judging criteria is simple: representation of the theme, craftsmanship and designing. One entrant can submit two entries and the quilt must have been prepared between June 2014 and the deadline. Participants from anywhere in Australia can enter. For compete rules, visit this
