The Australian Plants Expo will take place on Saturday 12th September and Sunday 13th September, from 10am to 4pm at the Eltham Community and Reception Centre.

The Expo will feature an extensive display of beautiful, rare, and unusual native plants grown by members of the Australian Plants Society Yarra Yarra. APS Yarra Yarra is a group of plant enthusiasts dedicated to growing, conserving, and raising awareness of native plants. A wide range of native pants, propagated by members, will be for sale at the Expo. Nurseries like the La Trobe Wildlife Sanctuary Nursery, which specialises in selling plants that are indigenous to the Northern region of Melbourne and the Lower Yarra Valley will also be selling native varieties.

In addition to plants for sale the Expo will also be holding talks and demonstrations, hosting children's activities, environmental displays, and selling books, art, and giftware. There are lots of prizes to be won, plenty of refreshments available and ample parking.

Talks and demonstrations on Saturday 12th September are as follows:
11.00am - Propagation, 12.30pm - Vertical gardens and green roofs - Fytogreen, 2.00pm - Drawing and painting native plants

Talks and demonstrations on Sunday 13th September are as follows:
11.00am - Propagation, 12.30pm - Bonsai with native plants, 2.00pm - Drawing and painting native plants

Other participants at the Expo include: Suntuff Plants, Robins Foods, Birdlife Australia, 1st Eltham Scouts, Natural Plantscape, Helene Wild giftware, FD Ryan Toolmakers, Display by APS Maroondah, Vaughan's Australian Plants, Victorian Bonsai Club, Display by Shire of Whittlesea, and more!

The facilities at the Expo are wheelchair friendly and admission is $5 per adult, $4 concession, and children are admitted for free. The Eltham Community and Reception Centre is located at 801 Main Road, Eltham (Mel 21 J6).
