The Australian Open is one of Melbourne's most well-known and popular summer events. Every year, locals and visitors from all over Australia and the world descend on Melbourne to see the superstars and the rising stars of tennis battle it out on the courts of Melbourne Park. The Australian Open (AO) is the only southern hemisphere Grand Slam event and attracts all the big names in tennis year after year. Federer, Nadal, Williams, Djokovic, Murray, names synonymous with great tennis, as well as many other up-and-coming young players, will once again delight the crowds with their skills, antics and competitive spirit.
There is a multitude of tickets available, depending on which arena and which date as well as your budget; you can check them out here.

A Ground Pass ($49 adults, $5 children) which allows access to all the outdoor courts to watch the tennis, also gives you access to the AO Live Stage. The AO Live Stage will host 15 consecutive days of music from local and international acts. These include '90s smooth R'n'B hero Craig David, British band Bastille, and Aussie indie icons Angus & Julia Stone, Jet, Something for Kate and Jebediah.
An Australian Open Ground Pass also gives families access to the AO Ballpark, a dedicated kids zone and mini theme park. Ýour kids will love the 12-metre waterslide, especially on a hot day, a climbing wall, daily stage shows and a Lego Play Zone. You can check it all here for the best in family fun.
