For those that desire to create bonsai that is a bit different from those normally seen, the Australian Native Bonsai masterclass on 31 May 2020 at the Mount Lofty Botanic Garden offers participants the opportunity to create bonsai using Australian native plants. A second session at the Wittunga Botanic Garden on 1 November 2020 is also available for those unable to make it to the first session.

Run from 10am to 3pm, this masterclass will provide a brief history on bonsai and selection of the plant best suited to your environment. Participants will also be taught the techniques of creating a bonsai and how to ensure it remains healthy. Lunch is provided and participants will be able to take home the bonsai they created.
