Uniting through their shared love of music, medical students from right around Australia are meeting in Melbourne for a three day workshop, culminating in their debut concert on Sunday 31st July 2016.
Over 100 medical students will be involved in this inaugural event, applying the principals 'excellence, performance under pressure and teamwork,' learned in their medical realm to this new combined musical sphere.
In only three short, intensive days the students will learn Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 5, Rimsky-Korsakov's Capriccio Espagnol and Faure's Masques et Bergamasques; the presentation of which will be performed for both public enjoyment and to raise funds for the Very Special Kids foundation and the Afghanistan National Institute of Music.
Conducted by Michael Dahlenburg, the concert, entitled "Genesis", is being held at the South Melbourne Town Hall, 210 Bank Street, South Melbourne on Sunday 31st July 2016 from 4pm to 6pm. Tickets prices are $30 for adults and $15 concession. Tickets can be purchased through TryBooking – and you'll find the link through the Australian Medical Students' Orchestra website or Facebook Page.
