The
Australian Heritage Festival (Victoria) is an annual statewide event that celebrates Victoria's diverse and vibrant heritage. Held from
18 April to 18 May each year, the Festival explores the state’s places and spaces, stories, collections and ideas that make us who we are. One of Victoria’s largest open-access community events, the Heritage Festival program features hundreds of events ranging from talks to tours, walks to workshops and exhibitions to special events. Events happen anywhere: urban and rural, towns and suburbs, in museums and libraries, in boats, trains and mysterious buildings, on the street, by the water and in nature. Hear the stories of the unusual and unknown, from amazing experts to local guides. With hundreds of events to choose from, there’s something for curious minds of all ages. This year's theme is
Unearthed - revealing the past, bringing light to lesser-known histories, stories and narratives.

26 April - Meet a Beekeeper - at The Heights Heritage Skills & Traditions Autumn Fair. Explore the beekeeper's tools of trade and engage in discussions about bees and the practice of beekeeping.
27 April - An Edwardian Paradise at Footscray Park - Take a walk through a botanic wonderland with a huge variety of plants, shaded bluestone-lined paths and stairs, leading to secluded alcoves, beautiful vistas, and hidden gems of history.
3 May - Walking on Country - Aboriginal and Early Colonial Benalla. A guided walking tour of key sites on the Broken River that reveal the history of Aboriginal society and the period of armed conflict following colonisation.
