Australia's 'Mind Shapers and Garden Creators' (think Edna Walling to Luis Barragan) who have influenced contemporary garden making, have themselves been influenced. Tim Entwisle, Jim Fogarty, Andrew Laidlaw and Jane Edmanson et al also have their own interpretation of what a garden is. The journeys of these influencers may be diverse, but perhaps they shared similar childhood experiences where they were encouraged to be permeated by the love of the scent of rosemary around the sandpit, or planting carrots as a five year old, or running free in the Australian bush. Come along and discover where all these collective influences came from as they offer us a wealth of ideas and individual thought processes in our approach to garden-making in the 21st Century.
Friends of RBG host many an interesting event. From the Natural Dye Craft Group to Botanic Art, to Basketry Craft Group and Kid's School Holiday Card Workshops, there's many to choose from. You just have to go to their
Event Page to book other events that may interest you.
