Vote for your favourite cafe
Do you have a favourite café, one you go to all the time where they make you feel like one of the family - or go to only occasionally but they have the BEST food/coffee/service around?

Then make sure you vote for your favourite café in the Australian Café of the Year competition that's currently running!

Australian Cafe of the Year
Voting is now open for the Australian Cafe of the Year

Café owners have to be registered to participate in this event, and unfortunately, registrations are now closed. But voting is open! So here's your chance to tell the rest of Australia which café you favour. And if you do, you could share in prizes worth $11,000, including one $5000 cash prize.

How do I vote?

You've got four options for casting a vote:

- on the Australian Café of the Year website,

- on the Australia Café of the Year Facebook page,

- via text using your café's unique voting code (your cafe will have printed cards that have this number) (cost is $0.55), or

- via the Australian Café of the Year smartphone app (available for iOS or android).

Make sure you vote by 9th October

To vote, you must be over 18 years of age (or have parental or guardian permission) and be an Australian resident. There is a limit of one vote per voter per method of voting.

Voting closes at midnight on 9th October 2014.

Who gets my vote?

Yes, I know, you're all itching to know which café's going to get my vote! Well, that's going to be a tough decision. There are three cafés I regularly visit that I feel are worthy contenders. All of them are venues I've reviewed on WeekendNotes. They are:

- Lights in the Attic, 38 Camberwell Road, Hawthorn East, which has moved ahead in leaps and bounds since I reviewed it in its opening days, and is now a polished and consistent performer, service and food-wise,

- Crabapple Kitchen, at 659 Glenferrie Road, Hawthorn, a long time favourite, or

- Monkey Bean, at 475 Toorak Road, Toorak, which seems to go from strength to strength, having recently secured a liquor license.
