Australia's not-to-be-missed premier body art event, the Australian Body Art Festival, returns to Cooroy for the weekend of the 3, 4 and 5 April 2020! This fabulous festival has been going from strength to strength every year, providing festival-goers with a vibrant, exciting and colourfully creative experience, that is appreciated by all who attend.
2019's Body Art Festival's theme was 'Other Worlds' - readers will notice the theme running through my photos - and in 2020 audiences are in for a thrilling ride with 'Time Travel', where anything and everything could be on the table ….hmmm, body! All artists require is … imagination and creativity … and a body to paint, of course!
The Australian Body Art Festival focuses on competitions in full body painting - temporary art, not tattooing - with artists from across Australia and around the world, exhibiting their works in various mediums. The Australian Body Art Festival also showcases competitions and exhibitions in wearable art and photography, plus for the first time ever in 2020, are proud to have a new competition category - Noosa Outback Surfboard Art, with the theme being 'Noosa Outback'.
So what can spectators look forward to at the all-ages 2020 Australian Body Art Festival:

The spectacular Australian Body Art Festival held in Cooroy, in the heart of Noosa's hinterland, is nothing short of extraordinary. For members of the public, who are not competing, it's a magically unique event and worthy of a weekend bookmark. Be prepared to be totally awe-struck by the exceptional talent on display, where boundaries are pushed and human canvases are transformed into mesmerising works of art.
