Australia's not-to-be-missed premier body art event, the Australian Body Art Festival, returns to Cooroy once again in 2021. After the challenges that 2020 presented, the Australian Body Art Festival's objective is to present a platform for artists and spectators to travel to a time before or after the 'bug' put lives on hold and … voilà, we have a new theme for 2021, Time Travel. Historical or futuristic? No matter how the artists wish to portray their art, the organisers of Australian Body Art Festival are determined that the 2021 event will be absolutely magical!

This delightfully flamboyant festival has been growing in leaps and bounds every year, providing festival lovers with an energetic, exciting and colourfully creative experience, that is appreciated by all who attend.
The theme in 2019 at the Australian Body Art Festival was 'Other Worlds' - readers may notice an extraterrestrial theme to images in my article. In 2021 spectators and audiences are in for the ride of their lives, so buckle up those time capsule seatbelts and prepare to be mesmerised with 'Time Travel', where anything and everything could be on the canvas …. hmmm, body canvas! All artists require is … imagination and creativity … and a body to paint, of course!

The Australian Body Art Festival focuses on competitions in full body painting - temporary art, not tattooing - with artists from all over Australia, exhibiting their works in various mediums. The Australian Body Art Festival also showcases competitions and exhibitions in speed UV painting, face painting, surfboard art, airbrush, special effects and wearable art.
Time for Spectator registration! Even though entry is free to spectators, due to Covid regulations, the festival site will be fenced and there will be limited numbers permitted on site at any one time. To ensure as many people as possible get the opportunity to attend the fabulous Australian Body Art Festival, the organisers have five planned sessions across the weekend. Starting with the first session - Opening Night - on Friday 9 April in the evening; two sessions on Saturday 10 April and another two sessions on Sunday, the 11 April, spectators will be required to register. In order to gain entry, visitors will require a pre-registration ticket - no ticket, no entry! To avoid disappointment, please book your tickets online here.
