Crowds gathered around the body art tent enthusiastically watching each creation taking shape. It was great watching the artists at work with their various spray guns, fine brushes and multitude of paints. They had 5 hours in which to complete their project.
This festival attracts around 15,000 visitors from all over Australia and other parts of the world and is growing each year. There are several categories such as face painting, body art, wearable art, vehicle art and photography.
Watching the artists work with spray guns was something I'd never seen close up before. A high level of patience is required in this area. As I watched the artist peruse her work and finely spray an area, I realised just what a good eye you would need to create such a piece.
This earthy painting of our indigenous people captured the outback colours of our country. The standard of work was simply amazing and this is one festival that will continue to grow in strength, interest and talent.
