Barefoot SA (South Australian Barefoot Waterski Club) is hosting the , now in its 56th year. Two waterfront locations offer the ideal setting to view this spectacular event which is being held from Monday 9th April 2018 to Sunday 15th April 2018 (week-long event) located at the Adelaide Riverbank and the Patawalonga River, Glenelg.


The events have skiers riverside from 7.30am, ready to take your breathe away with daring feats - absolutely no pun intended. the skiing event will conclude at 5.00pm each night with all events subject to weather conditions and possible rescheduling.

Adelaide has not hosted this event since 2006, so what a thrill is in store for you right in the heart of the CBD, where you will enjoy barefoot skiing tricks, slalom and jumps from national champions and over 100 registered skiers ranked according to their ability, each competing in this national event.

This event is free for spectators but a gold coin donation is encouraged. There is set to be large crowds for this event, so come prepared to park at distance and walk to the riverbank.

Adelaide Riverbank activities include catering options for families, entertainment, music, boat displays, licensed bar facilities, a 'Live Night Jump' under lights by some of Australia's, the World's best skiers and a live band on Friday night and Saturday.

The Patawalonga River site, where shaded areas are available, will feature activities and facilities for the general public on a smaller scale.

A gala dinner in the Margarey Room of the Adelaide Convention Centre will conclude the championships on the 15th April and is open to the wider community to register.


Safety considerations during the event include spectators will not be permitted to remain stationary and watch the event from Montefiore Road (Morphett St) Bridge (east and west side); nor the Adelaide Oval Footbridge (east and west side); nor the walkways, footpaths and bike lanes in and around the Adelaide Riverbank, which will be patrolled for your safety.

Spectating is invited and encouraged from the designated and marked lawn areas at or directly in front of Adelaide Convention Centre and Riverside Rowing Club.
