The Australian Ballet

The Australian Ballet are bringing the spectacular Swan Lake ballet to the Adelaide Festival Centre in July. Unless you've got a budding ballerina with a very good attention span the full performance may be a bit long for young kids. As a special family event the Australian Ballet and the Adelaide Festival Centre present Once Upon a Time.

Using a combination of narration and ballet, the performance is specially designed so that children can follow the story of the swam princess. It features scenes from the full ballet, and will include performances by dancers from the Australian Ballet.

The story is told by Prince Siegfried, who tells of the night he fell in love with Odette, the swan princess.

Designed for children 4 and up, Once Upon a Time will feature the beautiful costumes and dancing of Swan Lake in a child-friendly performance. It's sure to delight any youngsters dreaming of becoming a prima ballerina.

Tickets are $30.00 for adults, and $25 for children 2 to 17 years. You can book tickets online through BASS or from any BASS retailer. The performance is on the 9th of July, but the full ballet runs from the 5th till the 11th fo July. Tickets for Swan Lake start at $34 and can also be purchased through BASS.
