The Australian Animal Protection Society (AAPS) does a great job of rehoming animals and generally looking after animals that have had to be surrendered by owners who can no longer look after them. The owners may be sick, old, moving overseas and this is where AAPS takes over, providing the care our pets need. They also run vet clinics where services are provided at discounted rates to ensure that pet owners can do the right thing by their pets to ensure their well-being.

Being a not-for-profit organisation, the AAPS struggles at times to have the necessary funds to provide all the services it sees as necessary to its organisation, values and charter. One of the ways they raise money is through special events such as the Christmas Market Day.

The Christmas Market day will take place on Sunday, November 26th between 10 am and 3 pm. There will be a pet stall, food stalls, face painting, home-made cakes and Devonshire teas and prize stalls with a raffle and silent auction. Blessing of the animals will take place at 1pm.

The AAPs appreciates any support they get from the public, be it in volunteering, donations or coming to their events. They have been looking after animals for 45 years. So if you love animals and want to support this organisation, please come along. If you would like to help in any other way, you can check out their webpage to see how you can help. You may even find a cat or dog to adopt!
