This year Sydney Olympic Park is hosting a free Australia Day event. The event will be jam-packed with many things to see and do.

The fun-filled day starts at 12pm and finishes at 9pm and features food stalls and live entertainments such as Japanese drums, Polynesian dance, South American Flute, colonial dance, an Aboriginal dance ceremony and workshops, and many more live performances.

The kids will absolutely love it with Butterscotch's Playground, show by Greg Page (from the Wiggles), rides, an animal farm and free pony rides. There are also sheep shearing shows, sheep dog trials and whip cracking performances to see.

Roving performances, a community bazaar, face painting and craft workshops are some other activities at the event.

The official Ceremony will commence at 5pm with the Australia Day Ambassador address, Local Citizens of the Year awards and a welcoming ceremony of approximately fifty new Australian citizens.

And of course Australia Day will not be complete without a grand finale firework display at 8:50pm.

It is recommended to use public transport as there is limited parking at Bicentennial Park. There is a free shuttle bus which will be operating between Bicentennial Park and Auburn and Lidcombe railway stations from 12pm-9pm.

If you decide to arrive here by car, there is parking at Bicentennial Park- P3 car park at $ 4 per hour or $ 20 per day.
