Australia's largest inflatable waterslide, lamington eating competition and Triple J's Hottest 100 Countdown. Have we grabbed your attention yet?
How about fireworks, swimming pools, kids rides, facepainting, farm animals, and lots of good old Aussie drinks with friends?
Put it all together and you have Australia Day at Sandstone Point Hotel.
Renowned for their outdoor events, Sandstone Point Hotel is hosting a bumper Australia Day party this year, and it's sure to go off with a bang. The venue is relatively new with a large grassy outdoor area. Patrons can choose to either drink in the hotel or at the tables out on the grass area, or lay out picnic blankets for families to sit with children and enjoy the atmosphere. Drinks are allowed on the lawn, the whole area is licensed. Families should note that no outside food or drinks are allowed in to the venue.
The fireworks are scheduled to go off at 7pm after a full day of entertainment.
Think lots of drinks with friends on the grass, more family fun that you can imagine, and the cracking music of Triple J's Hottest 100 Countdown. And what would an Australia Day be without a sausage sizzle and a roast on a spit? This year the Sandstone Point Hotel has it all.
Along with ample parking and a brand spanking new venue, it looks set to be a good day.
The only downside to this venue is the location, but it's also the upside. It's on the mainland just across from Bribie Island, but there are regular buses that go from Caboolture Railway Station and other stops. Check out the Translink site for information and times. On the flipside, the location beside the water is perfect for a great Australia Day event.
For more details follow the venue's Facebook page or see their website. Tables can be booked online for those wishing to sit down to lunch before venturing out on to the picnic lawn area.
Sandstone Point Hotel is located at 1800 Bribie Island Road, Sandstone Point Qld.
