I write for Weekend Notes and I take photographs, usually sunsets and sunrises. Occasionally I include my photos in my articles. I like to promote Geelong, and activities around Geelong.
Event: -
The Australia Day Weekend begins on Saturday 24th January and rocks on until Monday 26th January. There is so much to do in Geelong this Australia Day weekend.

The Festival of Sails runs from Friday until Monday, with a massive weekend of sailing competitions on Corio Bay. The Geelong Waterfront precinct is the place to be for most of the weekend, with art and craft market stalls, children's activities, Come and Try Water Events and a Marine Boat Show.

You can read more at the Festival of Sails website, with information about dates and times of events.
Fireworks at Geelong Waterfront
Australia Day Fireworks

On Sunday 25th January, at 9.20pm, as part of the Festival of Sails weekend, there will be a fireworks display over Corio Bay. Geelong Waterfront is the best place to watch the fireworks, so get down there early to get a good seat; bring a blanket, drinks and snacks for the children, and remember the insect repellent. Tune your radio in to 93.9 Bay FM to hear the simulcast during the fireworks display.

Children's Free Fun Day at Rippleside Park

Another really popular annual event on Australia Day is the Children's Free Fun Day at Rippleside Park. On Monday 26th January, you can celebrate Australia Day at Rippleside Park. There are over 40 free activities and displays for families and children to enjoy. Free activities start at 11.00am.
