The sky lights up with fireworks and an air show
So much will be going on around and above the Swan River on Australia Day. The Air Show has returned to Skyworks with spectacular aircraft displays every 15-20 minutes from 3pm. There will be planes and helicopters flying in formation and acrobatic displays. Precision skydivers will land on Langley Park and a variety of aircraft including the Victa Airtourer, Christian Eagle and the Royal Australian Air Force PC-21's entertaining the crowds above the river. With so much going in the skies above the river you could choose from a variety of locations to view the day's activities culminating in a spectacular fireworks finale at 8 pm. The amazing airshow and sensational fireworks display can be seen from either the north or south side of the river or you could choose an elevated vantage point above the river in Kings Park.
From 3-7pm at the Supreme Court Gardens Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture will be celebrated with the free Birak Concert featuring talent from across the state and from over east, including a traditional Welcome to Country, stage performances from Lilly Gogos, Ron Dick, Lil Mase, The Last Kinection, and a bunch more! In addition to the jam-packed stage schedule, there will be inflatable amusements, workshops, community stalls, and the Elders Marquee. See event program
The Lotterywest Entertainment Zone at Langley Park is the place to be with family fun and a huge range of amusements and it's all FREE. There is a water playground, a maze and freestyle Motorcross and BMX. The Culture Zone has performances and workshops from 3-7.45pm. All the details are here
On the south side of the river in South Perth, there will be 100 free amusements and performances for all ages to enjoy and of course an uninterrupted view of the airshow and fireworks. See here for details.
