Celebrate all things Australian at the Australia Day Festival 2017 on Thursday 26 January 2017 from 3pm to 9.30pm at Dandenong Park , corner of Pultney and Foster Streets, Dandenong.

The longest running Australia Day event of 56 consecutive years held at the same location, this is an all ages, free to attend event. A significant celebration for the Greater Dandenong Community, it's an opportunity for a community of different backgrounds to gather and reflect on what it means to be Australian.

The event will commence with a Welcome to Country and a Smoking Ceremony, followed by a Flag Raising Ceremony and Australia Day Awards on the main stage. The main stage program from 3pm onwards includes the Greater Dandenong Band, The Fifths, Dave Arden Duo Band, Le Petit Circus and the Swim Season Band.

Event highlights include 2 stages of live music and cultural performances, quirky roving performers, native Australian animal interactive display, petting zoo, other free family activities, rides from $2 to $6, a mini market village, community stalls, dedicated food court with food trucks and stalls and a whole lot more.

For the grand finale, there'll be spectacular fireworks at 9.25pm, which will run for around 8 minutes and launched near the Dandenong Creek. Be sure to keep your animals secure as they may be affected by the noise. This is a smoke and alcohol-free event.

Ride your bike to the event and receive 2 free ride tokens and valet bike parking. Come along for a whole lot of free family fun.
